Afloat Recreation Program Management
The Afloat Recreation Program enhances the quality of life for more than 180,000 Sailors and Marines in Homeports, Yard Periods, and Underway. Every Navy ship and submarine operates an Afloat Recreation Program under the direction of the ship’s Commanding Officer. Key roles of Recreation Services Officer (RSO) and Recreation Fund Custodian (RFC) are designated by the Commanding Officer to active duty crew members to carry out the daily operations of the program. Recreation & fitness activities, intramural sports, command-wide events, competitions, trips & tours and discount ticket or rebate programs are common categories of programs offered to crewmembers.
