Deployed Forces Support Standards and Metrics
The MWR Deployed Forces Support Standards were re-written in 2016 and updated in 2018. The attached DFS Standards apply to our 13 core DFS locations around the world. Jumbo DFS Installations are NAVSTA Norfolk, VA and Naval Base San Diego, CA. Large DFS installations at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI, Naval Base Kitsap (Bremerton/Bangor), WA, NSA Bahrain, NAVSTA Mayport, FL, CFA Yokosuka, Japan. Medium DFS installations in SUBASE New London, CT, SUBASE Kings Bay, GA, CFA Sasebo, Japan, NAVSTA Everett, WA and Naval Base Guam. Small installations NAVSTA Rota, Spain. All of these locations have home ported ships, all other locations supporting ships at their installation via port visits should refer to the MWR Community Recreation Standards. Afloat Recreation and Fitness (Shipboard) Standards
The CNIC MWR Afloat Recreation and Fitness (Shipboard) standards were rewritten in 2016 and updated in 2018. These shipboard standards act as a guide to shipboard Commanding Officers defining expectations on their respective classes of ships in the proper execution of their Afloat Recreation Program onboard their vessels and take into account Underway, Homeport and Yard periods.
